Santa Visit 2009

We took Keller to visit Santa today at State Farm - I figured that it wasn't going to go as smooth as last year....but was still excited to take him.

First of all - I don't know who decided it would be a good idea to schedule the Infant-Kindergarten age group for 3:00pm...HELLO - Nap time!!

Now that Keller is a walking fool - that's all he wanted to do. No stroller, no holding, no walking while holding our hands - just walking and roaming all on his own! So independent, yet so inconvenient when there are so many people, many of which were trying to take pictures! Ha!

None the less, it was a pretty good time and the picture with Santa is such a classic! I'm not even the slightest disappointed! I can't help but laugh!

Walking and walking...

He loved sitting on this fireplace!

The only cheesy smile I got all day!

Sitting in the sleigh - almost up to Santa!

And here we are....hahahahaha I stinkin love it.

Another First...

Poor little Bubba Louie...he's got his first ear infection.

I stayed home from work today because I just knew something wasn't right. For the past couple of weeks, he has been messing with his ears. Both of them...but at random times. He was showing no other issues - taking his sippy with no problem, still lovin on his bink like a mad man, and sleeping like a champ. I basically just thought that it was his teeth as I'm pretty sure his molars are trying to come through. Or that he found his ears and he thought they were cool. Plus, he's never had more than a runny-nose type cold in his whole life, so I really didn't know exactly what to look for!

However, the last couple of days, he started messing more and more with them, and was just getting over a cold. I decided to go ahead and have the doctor check them. Sure enough, he has a mild infection in his right ear. We got some antibiotics and hopefully this will clear up soon.

On a side note - I was kinda wondering what the heck got into my little man at the doc's office! He Fa-REAKED out when we got into the room and I sat him down on the table to undress him. He continued to scream when he got his temp taken, got on the scale, and would not let his Mama put him down! When the doc came in, he proceeded to Fa-REAK again when all she did was place the stethoscope on his back to listen to his breathing. He was crying so hard! Like the no-breathing-for-45-seconds-except-it-feels-more-like-45-minutes kind of cry! Break a heart! I was holding him the whole time and that just wasn't helping. He had a death-grip on my shirt. Poor buddy! Soooo that was a nice preview of what his 15 month check-up is going to be like next month....fabulous! Can't wait! :)

Hopefully my lil monkey will be back to his old self soon! :)

Thanksgiving 2009

What a difference a year makes - last Thanksgiving, I was a stressed out new Mama! My sweet boy was just 2 months old and he was a crying, fussy mess the whole day! This year, I kept saying to myself, what a difference a year makes! He was having SO much fun! He was walking all around, chatting it up with everyone and playing with his cousins. It was definetly a lot less stressful this time around and we truly enjoyed our day!

Our first stop was Aunt Lisa's! So excited for all the wonderful food there and so many family members! Keller didn't eat one bite (ok, that's a lie. He ate two bites of a roll, but nothing else - ha!) For some reason, I'm so bad about getting out my camera here - I've got to do better (Angel - yell at me next time!)!!

After Aunt Lisa's, we headed to Normal to my Mom & Dad's house. Keller did not fall asleep like I would have appreciated but he was still in a pretty good mood. And let me just say, this kid TORE UP some turkey!!

We also got to see Sophia without her cast on!! LOVE IT!! But she feels so much more fragile now! Haha! She doesn't have her full half body armor on any more!!

Here is the second half of our day in pictures! :)

My wonderful family :)

Right here - this is my world!

Love him!

Sophia darling!

14 Months!

My 14 Month old Bubba Louie!!

He sure is a crraaaaazy boy and is soooo much fun right now - We love it!!

He is walking about 90% of the time - unless he wants to get somewhere real fast (the bedroom, the bathtub, anytime the gate gets opened he FLIES!) He also is starting to do great in shoes! :)

I've given up on being stressed about how he eats - one day he'll love something, the next he hates it and won't take a bite. We always try and feed him what we're eating if its something he can eat, but I am so done with being stressed about it. And if he has to eat PB&J every day just so he's eating something, that's what will happen! (It doesn't, but it's on the menu often, that's for sure!)

Two more teeth are trying to make their way through on the bottom, and I'm pretty sure his back molars are working through too - fabulous! :) The total count is still 6 though...

He has just learned to shake his head back and forth as in "No" but doesn't use it in the correct context quite yet - actually, when Tony says "Keller" he'll start to shake it "No"....haha it cracks us up!

He loves to clap when we say "Yay!" and also tell us "num num num" when we ask him if he's hungry.

He is absolutely the light of my world and I love how much he is growing and learning every single day. He pretty much makes my mama heart melt! :)

Thankful

Thanksgiving.

So much more than food and football. :)

A day to spend with family

A day to remember what we're thankful for.

It's too bad we don't think about this everyday.

I'm guilty of that.

I have a lot to be thankful for.

Every single day.

My life. My health. My job.

My husband. His love for me and our baby boy.

We're thankful for all the time that we have to spend together.

We have a house, clothing, and food on the table. We complain, but we shouldn't.

My baby boy. His smiles. His laughter. His ability to light up my world.

He's so smart. He's incredibly healthy. He is going to do great things in his life.

My family. They are wonderful and supportive in anything that I've ever wanted to do.

My friends. Amazing. Supportive. Loving. Honest.

I'm thankful for so much more.
Every. Single. Day.

Happy Thanksgiving from The West Family!
